Panel OKs Extradition Pact

WASHINGTON —
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted today 15 to 2 to approve a new U.S.-British extradition treaty making it easier for Britain to bring suspected Irish terrorists to trial.
The treaty was sent to the full Senate, where a two-thirds majority would be needed for approval. The committee also voted to approve $20 million over two years in aid for Northern Ireland.
