Robert Loggia’s star may be rising, if a “Jagged Edge” sequel comes off. He bagged a supporting-actor Oscar nomination for his role as the tough investigator in the thriller--and would probably get star billing if he reprises the role.

“It would be interesting to try it without profanity, as I’ve always thought that indicated a paucity of intelligence,” said Loggia. “And it would also be interesting if my character had a romance with Glenn (Close).”

Janet Myers, creative affairs director for producer Martin Ransohoff, said, “Things are at such an early stage that anything is possible”--including bringing Jeff Bridges back from the dead “through flashbacks or some other means.” No writer is set, but Myers said it won’t be Joe Eszterhas, who wrote the original.
