Travelers are warned not to put home addresses on luggage tags. Potential burglars can identify and visit houses which are temporarily unoccupied. We solved the problem by using the street address of our neighborhood police department.

Another way is to put your business card into the luggage tag holder. That way, your name is there for ID at baggage pickup points, but not your home address.
