Gurgen Askard of Denmark was killed in a 120 m.p.h. crash during the Mitsubishi Powerboat Grand Prix at Bristol, England.
Askard’s boat clipped a wall in the Bristol docks before flying through the air and smashing into a pier wall.
On Saturday, a spectator drowned after jumping into the water to cool off. Kevin Ryson, 21, from Horfield, Bristol, was cheered by the crowd as he stripped off and plunged in. Their laughter turned to horror when he failed to resurface.
The course between high stone walls has now claimed five lives in its 15-year history.
