Bank of San Diego said Robert E. Townsend, one of the 7-year-old bank’s founding directors, has been named chairman. He replaces founding Chairman James S. Brown, who will remain as a director of the bank and chairman and chief executive of BSD Bancorp, the bank’s parent. In a statement, Brown said the move “will allow me to stay involved in development of the bank’s strategy and participate in its progress while giving me more time to devote to my (BSD Bancorp) duties.”
