A 30-mile stretch of busy Interstate 40 across northern Arizona was reopened after being closed for more than six hours by a train derailment that spilled hazardous chemicals, state officials said. The derailment blocked Chicago-to-Los Angeles Amtrak trains. Truck traffic was forced on a detour of about 145 miles and cars were routed about 50 miles out of the way. Authorities said 36 cars of a Santa Fe freight train derailed near Parks, 16 miles west of Flagstaff.
