New Community Overlooking Ocean Opens in San Clemente

Marlborough Seaview Estates, a community that eventually will contain 122 homes on a hill overlooking the ocean, opens today at 2834 Calle Guadalajara, San Clemente.

Offered in Spanish, Tudor or Cape Cod architectural styling, the one- and two-story houses contain three and four bedrooms in 1,849 to 2,275 square feet of living area. Prices range from $176,990 to $209,990 and first move-ins are planned for August.The architect is Stoffregen Gouvis & Associates of San Juan Capistrano.

Twenty-eight of the 42 homes in the first two phases had been sold by midweek.

Features of the homes include mahogany entry doors, wood-burning fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, entries floored in ceramic tile or wood parquet, wet bars and master bedroom suites with private baths. Kitchens offer greenhouse windows, microwave ovens, ceramic tile countertops and built-in appliances.

The Marlborough Development Corp. project is also offering 12,000-square-foot home sites with ocean views from $110,000 to $135,000. Four model homes furnished by Norman Colburt of Santa Monica are open daily except Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
