Icee to Put Machines Into Arco Mini-Marts

Icee USA said it will install about 450 Icee machines in Arco am pm mini-marts in California and other Western states beginning next month.

Anaheim-based Icee currently operates about 1,800 machines and Icee distributors operate another 5,200 machines, each of which dispenses two flavors of Icee, a semifrozen carbonated beverage.

Revenue for 1985 totaled $13.2 million; for 1986 the company is projecting revenue of about $15 million.

Separately, the company said Lawrence Maltz has been named president and chief operating officer, replacing Edward Steele, 48, who resigned to become president of Smith Enterprises Inc. of Rock Hill, S.C., a maker of Easter and Christmas food packages. Maltz, 48, was president of Runglin Manufacturing Co. and Runglin Overseas Ltd., which operates Icee distributorships abroad, principally in Southeast Asia. Both companies are owned by Culver City-based Runglin Co., which has a 40% stake in Icee USA.
