No, Pat Moore, aging is not a dirty word (Letters, June 14). But does that mean we have to look forward to gray hair, wrinkles and a rocker? Actually, Moore’s scenario of a new career, aerobics, race walking, the presidency (a woman, of course) and parachuting in the “golden years” sounds great to me.

A recent American Assn. of Retired Persons convention, attended by more than 23,000 seniors, vividly portrayed today’s older citizen as interesting and interested--and definitely not rocking on the front porch! And if they look good and feel good along the way--more power to them.

In the immortal words of George Burns, “ . . . we can’t help getting older, the trick is not to get old!”
