Redondo Beach : Oil Drilling Zoning Vote
The City Council unanimously agreed on Tuesday to put a measure on the November ballot that would require voter approval before coastal land could be rezoned to accommodate offshore oil drilling.
The measure will be modeled after a San Diego proposal, also slated for the November 4 election, that would affirm that city’s longstanding opposition to offshore oil drilling.
