The two firms, working in a joint venture, will be paid $48.8 million by the Air Force to develop a computerized system for combat aircraft in the 1990s. The Integrated Electronic Warfare System will warn crew members of attack and initiate counter-measures, said Julie Wright, director of public relations for TRW’s Redondo Beach-based electronics and defense sector. Work will be performed at facilities in San Diego and Baltimore.
