Cerritos : Schools OK Salary Increase
The seven-member ABC Unified School District Board of Education has unanimously approved a 5% salary increase for fiscal year 1986-1987 for teachers, classified personnel and management employees. The raises will amount to more than $2.55 million.
Increases for 1,050 full- and part-time teachers will total $1.69 million under a contract approved earlier by the ABC Federation of Teachers.
About 900 non-teaching employees in the 22,000-student district received raises totaling more than $550,000. The California School’s Employees Assn., which represents clerical and technical employees, and the American Federation of School, County and Municipal Employees, which includes classified employees, bus drivers and food service workers, had also approved the contract.
Raises for management and other employees, of which there are more than 150, amounted to more than $305,000.
The contracts will be effective from July 1, 1986, to June 30, 1987.
