Hycor Biomedical Inc. has named Dallas-based consultant Richard L. Knox to the newly created post of executive vice president. Knox, 46, will leave his consulting business, Benchmark Assoc., to join Hycor, a company official said.
Additionally, Thomas Foley, a diagnostic products research and development director for several major medical equipment firms, has been named vice president for research and development at Hycor’s operating subsidiary, ICL Scientific Inc.
Hycor--formerly Hybridoma Sciences Inc.--develops, manufactures and markets, through ICL, various diagnostic products for clinical laboratories. The Fountain Valley-based companies were founded in 1981 and currently have 80 employees, according to Reg Jones, Hycor’s vice president and chief financial officer.
Knox, 46, specializes in corporate acquisitions, planning and operations. He has been a consultant for the past 20 years, the company said. Foley has worked in diagnostic product research at SmithKline Instruments, Beckman Instruments and, most recently, at Ciba Corning Instruments Laboratories.
