Predictions of a crowded summer for Yosemite National Park are not proving to be true, based upon visitors to the park through June. Hotel occupancy in June and for the year to date was slightly below the rates for 1985, according to Yosemite Park & Curry Co., operator of all hotels within the park. Car counts were also down from 1985 figures, 4.2% below last year, and with June having 4.9% fewer cars than in 1985. A company spokesman attributed the downturn in 1986 visitors to storms early in the year and what he called erroneous news reports discouraging people from visiting the park.
