$100 Million to Aid Nicaragua’s Contras: Pro and Con
When the contra aid package was voted, The Times responded with a diatribe against “Reagan’s dirty little war” on Marxist dictatorship in Nicaragua, and attacked the “futile,” “violent,” and “bloody policies” of the United States in Central America.
Views such as these are relics of the 1960s. The Times should have learned by now that hysterical left-wing anti-Americanism is no substitute for foreign policy.
