Members of the Sacramento Symphony Orchestra have ratified a three-year contract that paves the way for the on-schedule opening of the previously canceled season in September.

The Sacramento Symphony Assn. on May 13 announced cancellation of the coming season because of its contract dispute with musicians.

But an “outpouring” of financial support from the civic and business community enabled an improved contract offer to permit the opening of the new season on Sept. 12, marketing director Alzada Forbes said.
