I read the news of David Wolper’s decision to make no more extravaganzas with mixed emotions: relief and gratification.

In his honor I have concocted a Wolper Whopper Sundae.

Take a scoop of fudge ripple ice cream and cover it with chili, right from the can; sprinkle with sliced raw mushrooms, then smother with confetti. Put a lighted birthday candle on top. When it burns down to ignite the confetti, everybody cheer.
