Beverly Grear has been appointed director of inflight services at AirCal, replacing Daneda Lipsey, who was named director of cruise scheduling for the Newport Beach-based carrier.

Grear previously had been with Hughes Airwest--now Republic Airlines--and joined AirCal in 1980, when she served as manager of central inventory control and manager of customer service in Oakland. In 1983 she joined Aloha Airlines and in late 1984 moved to Frontier Airlines, where she served as vice president of customer service until she rejoined AirCal in her current position.

Grear will be responsible for the hiring and training of flight attendants and will manage inflight food service. She will report to Fred von Husen, senior vice president of operations.
