LETTERS : Bring Back the Springs
I especially enjoyed the article on beach cruisers (“California’s Beach Crowd Leads Bikes Back to the Future,” July 20) since my 1952 Schwinn Panther has come back into style.
What my Schwinn has, that the newer bikes don’t, is a spring-suspended front wheel to cushion the ride; I’ve wondered why bicycle manufacturers don’t make spring forks anymore.
