Microsemi’s Latest Buy Is a Santa Ana Company
Microsemi Corp. said it has purchased RPM Enterprises, a small Santa Ana electronics maker, for about $1 million in cash and notes.
It was the second acquisition in less than a month for Microsemi, a Santa Ana electronics manufacturer and defense contractor. Earlier this month the company purchased Bikor Corp., a small Torrance electronics manufacturer, for less than $1 million.
“We’re in an active acquisition mode,” said David Sonksen, Microsemi’s vice president for finance. “We expect to make additional acquisitions.”
In April, Microsemi raised about $12 million from a common stock sale in preparation for the acquisitions.
RPM will become a part of Microsemi’s wholly owned subsidiary, Microcap Inc. Rudy Maravich, RPM’s founder and top executive, will continue to direct its operations.
