Travelers Corp. reported a decline in net earnings for its second quarter to $72.5 million from $78.4 million a year earlier, despite a 5% increase in revenue. Edward H. Budd, chairman and chief executive of the Hartford, Conn.-based company, said improvements in the company’s commercial property and casualty business helped second-quarter earnings.
