Armstrong Rubber, the nation’s sixth-largest tire maker, reported a fiscal third-quarter net loss of $44.3 million after a $47.1-million after-tax charge associated with a restructuring. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 totaled $202.3 million, compared to $210.2 million for the same period last year. The restructuring plan involves the closing of its Natchez, Miss., tire plant, affecting about 440 employees. The company is also considering closing one more of its remaining three tire plants in Hanford, Calif., Nashville, Tenn., and Des Moines, Iowa.
