3 Robbers Escape With $25,000 in Videotapes From Garden Grove Store
Three male robbers escaped with $25,000 in merchandise from a Garden Grove video rental store after handcuffing the store clerk and her children in a back room, Garden Grove police said Thursday.
Two robbers, armed with handguns, forced an unidentified 36-year-old clerk, her 16-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son into a back room at Lan Video, 9937 Westminster Ave., about noon, said Sgt. John Woods.
Meanwhile, the other man started loading videotapes into large plastic bags.
Woods described the robbers as Vietnamese men in their 20s with punk-style haircuts.
They took about $20 from a cash register and then loaded the bags of videotapes into a red, mid-sized pickup and fled, Woods said.
