Chrysler said Friday that its tentative 1987 car prices would be less than 2% higher on average than 1986 prices for comparably equipped cars.

The price of a 1987 Chrysler Fifth Avenue will be $744 higher, or about 4.9% more than a comparably equipped 1986 model, Chrysler said. The Fifth Avenue’s tentative suggested retail price for 1987 would be $15,666.

Suggested base retail prices for the Plymouth Gran Fury and the Dodge Diplomat were announced as $10,598, an increase of $500, or 4.9%, from 1986.
