Is This Any Way to Treat the Hollypark Fans?

Share

The worst part of the Hollywood Park meeting was Marje Everett and her repeated statements about how concerned she is with the needs of the fans. Give me a break! All Hollywood Park seems to be interested in anymore is money .

You pay to park, pay general admission, pay to get into the Cinema Terrace, then pay again to get a box seat. At this point, Hollywood Park has collected $10 from you and you haven’t placed a bet yet.

The biggest rip-off is the fact that you can’t purchase box seats in advance for an upcoming race day without paying the additional admission to the Cinema Terrace. Unlike Santa Anita, at Hollywood Park, you can only purchase box seats in the box seat area, an area which you have to pay extra to get into. I asked the grandstand reserved seat ticket-seller if he was serious about fans having to pay extra for the privilege of buying an advance box seat ticket, and his reply was: “Lady, you forget which track you’re at . . . “

I can hardly wait for the Oak Tree meeting to start so I can go to Santa Anita, a track that has class and really cares about its fans.
