A civil rights committee and the Washington Post announced an agreement today that will require the newspaper’s advertisers to use more black models in real estate advertisements.

The agreement was reached after the results of a 16-month survey by the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights showed that 98% of all models appearing in the advertisements were white. Bo Jones, an attorney for the Post, said: “These groups brought these statistics to our attention. We wanted to respond.”
