Pasadena : Clinic for the Homeless

Share

A weekly medical clinic that offers diagnosis and treatment for homeless people has been started by Union Station, a shelter for the indigent.

It is staffed by volunteer doctors and nurses every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in a room at All Saints Episcopal Church.

Scott Hoekman, spokesman for Union Station, said the clinic has treated about 10 patients each Wednesday since opening in June and is seeking additional volunteer doctors and nurses. Carl Shafer, a retired USC professor of social work, is the project’s volunteer coordinator.
