NEW PLAY GETS SHOWING IN S.D.

SAN DIEGO — Maria Irene Fornes’ one-act play, “The Mothers,” fresh from its world premiere at the Padua Hills Playwrights Workshop in Los Angeles, will be performed at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in Balboa Park’s Pepper Grove near the Centro Cultural de la Raza.
Fornes, who wrote and directed the play, will attend. The New York City playwright has added three scenes, not seen in Los Angeles, for the play’s San Diego performance, according to Luke Theodore Morrison.
Morrison’s Center for Theatre Science and Research is presenting the play here, performed by the Padua Hills cast.
Tickets will be available at the Centro Cultural de la Raza.
