For Better Living Inc. said that net income for its fiscal 1986 second quarter, ended June 28, was $570,000, up 58% from $360,000. The diversified San Juan Capistrano-based company reported revenue for the quarter of $16.6 million, up 33% from $12.5 million.
For the first half, net income of $766,000 was up 68% from $455,000 and revenue of $32.1 million was up 43% from $22.4 million.
The company attributed the large gains in earnings and revenue to its acquisition of Dalworth Construction Inc. of Arlington, Tex., which it acquired in January for $12.5 million. Dalworth makes precast concrete at seven plants in Texas, Arkansas and Georgia. For Better Living publishes several magazines and manufactures precast concrete and plastic products.
