Maybelline sued Cover Girl over an advertisement.
Maybelline, the cosmetic unit of Schering-Plough, filed suit in U.S. District Court in Little Rock, Ark., accusing Noxell, maker of Cover Girl Clean Lash mascara, and its advertising agency, SSC&B; Lintas, with false advertising. Maybelline, which is seeking a preliminary and permanent injunction, alleges that Cover Girl’s claim that its mascara is “waterproof” is misleading and deceptive.
