Blackout Hits 550 Edison Customers
Malfunctioning equipment at a Southern California Edison substation blacked out parts of La Crescenta and La Canada Flintridge for a little more than an hour Sunday night.
A spokesman for the power company said about 550 residential and business customers were affected by the failure, as were street lights and traffic signals.
Officers of the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department directed traffic manually at key intersections until power was restored at 8:16 p.m.
