United Technologies Corp. will supply the People’s Republic of China with 37 industrial gas turbine engines adapted from the workhorse JT8D commercial jet engine in a 10-year deal worth $150 million, UTC said. UTC’s Pratt & Whitney Aircraft division, maker of the JT8D, will work with Turbo Power & Marine Systems Inc. to develop and produce the 30,000 horsepower FT8 gas turbines, the company said in a statement.
