The FBI and U.S. attorney’s office in San Francisco have begun a criminal investigation of a May 26 collision that killed three crewmen aboard the fishing boat Jack Jr., about seven miles west of Point Reyes. The 73-foot vessel sank after it was struck by another ship, apparently the oil tanker Golden Gate.
