Drug screening began in earnest at the White House, with Vice President George Bush and an undisclosed number of presidential aides taking part in the testing. “It is, and should be, confidential,” Larry Speakes, White House press spokesman, told reporters, refusing to say how many aides volunteered or to speculate on the test results. President Reagan took the test Saturday. Speakes said the urine samples, taken in the White House physician’s unit, were to be sent to the U.S. Naval Hospital in Norfolk, Va., where they will be tested.
