Norman G. Milley, president of K mart’s stores group and a director of the corporation, will retire Feb. 1, 1987, the company announced.
Milley, 62, has been with the corporation for 45 years and has held his current position since Jan. 31, 1985. In that role, he was also a member of the three-person office of the chairman, which will consist of Chairman Bernard M. Fauber and Vice Chairman Samuel G. Leftwich after Milley’s retirement.
A spokeswoman said the company does not plan to name a successor.
In December, 1984, the discount store company announced a restructuring under which an executive team would manage the corporation after the retirements of senior staff members. The spokeswoman characterized Milley’s retirement as “part of an ongoing transition.”
