WASHINGTON — The House voted today, in the face of White House opposition, to continue a ban on testing anti-satellite weapons, a day after it handed President Reagan two other defeats on national security issues.
The Democratic-controlled chamber approved the ban on a 222-197 vote as it worked its way through a bill authorizing the Pentagon budget for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1. Still pending was a decision whether to ban chemical weapons.
