Pomona : Lampman Trial Postponed
City Administrator Ora Lampman, who was arrested in December on suspicion of drunk driving, has had his jury trial rescheduled to Sept. 24 at his attorney’s request. Lampman, who failed a field sobriety test after a Claremont police officer observed Lampman’s city-owned car swerving at 1:45 a.m., had been scheduled to appear Tuesday at Citrus Municipal Court in West Covina.
Lampman was originally scheduled to appear in Pomona Municipal Court in January, but Municipal Court Judge Theodore Piatt said Lampman, 56, was too well known by judges to be tried in Pomona. His case was transferred to Citrus, where Lampman had been scheduled to appear in April for a preliminary hearing. That date was reset to May 19, but Lampman’s attorney requested that it again be rescheduled to Aug. 12 for a jury trial.
