Nicaragua Invasion Would Be Disaster, Bonn Official Warns

A West German Cabinet minister just back from a trip to Latin America said Thursday that a U.S. invasion of Nicaragua would be a catastrophe more devastating for the West than the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan.
Juergen Warnke, minister for economic cooperation and a member of the right-wing Christian Social Union in Chancellor Helmut Kohl’s coalition, made the comment in an interview with the Neue Ruhr newspaper.
