They Were Not Amused

We were really astounded at Barry Zwick’s “Reluctant Cruiser” article on cruising to Alaska (Aug. 3). This poor attempt at humor was written in such a negative manner and implied that the cruise was boring, the passengers were all senile and that the cabins were small and crowded.
We were on that same cruise ship, Holland America Line’s Noordam, the same week. We think the facilities, activities, accommodations and services were simply outstanding throughout.
Every day we enjoyed ever-changing scenery from the decks and the company of interesting and friendly passengers of all ages. Furthermore, our modern cabin was spacious and comfortable. The cruise was a wonderful vacation choice.
