TRE accused Giant Group of stock speculation.

TRE, a Los Angeles manufacturer of aerospace materials and home products, said Giant’s “speculation in TRE stock” threatened to cause the Los Angeles manufacturer of aerospace materials and home products “considerable financial loss.” The Beverly Hills-based holding company appeared to be “following the same script it followed last year” when it speculated in Ply-Gem Industries stock “in a transaction that amounted to greenmail,” TRE Chairman L. S. Wyler said. Wyler accused Giant Group’s Burt Sugarman, who has demanded that Giant be granted one-third of the seats on TRE’s board, of distorting facts and “arrogant and heavy-handed tactics.”
