A new priest was installed as pastor of the Vietnamese Roman Catholic mission, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, in San Jose despite the protests of 250 people who attempted to disrupt the installation Mass, conducted at St. Maria Goretti Church. But so far, the new pastor has a title without a church. The Rev. Paul Luu Dinh Duong has been locked out of the mission since July 21 when a group of Vietnamese, loyal to Luu’s predecessor, took over the mission and have refused to let Luu inside. The dissidents said they dislike the new pastor because they believe he undermined the previous pastor and does not support the movement for a Vietnamese church.
