The Death of Howard Jarvis
Let me preface this by stating that I never agreed with Howard Jarvis; I thought his schemes were, at best, half-baked, and that he, along with his befuddled teammate, Paul Gann, did a great disservice to the state.
Having said that, I must admit that I will miss Howard. He added great color and gusto to a sometimes drab political scene, and could be counted on to knock the stilts out from under some of our more pompous politicians.
Jarvis was the Pied Piper of tax reform, whose visions--wacky as they were--came to fruition too late in life for him to fully bask in his notoriety.
