Cocaine Caches Seized at 2 Airports in Paris
French customs officers said Tuesday they confiscated 140 pounds of cocaine during a twin operation at two Paris airports on Friday in what is believed to be the biggest seizure of the drug in France.
Agents at Charles de Gaulle Airport found 92 pounds of cocaine hidden in four false-bottomed suitcases during an inspection of luggage from Bogota, Colombia, a spokesman said.
Two Colombian women were arrested. After questioning them, customs agents arrested two more passengers at Orly Airport and found 48 pounds of the drug in their luggage.
