Britain’s Steve Cram set a stadium record in winning the 1,000-meter run in an international track and field meet at Birmingham, England.
Cram, unbeaten in his last 19 races, used his last race before next week’s European Championships to test a slight calf injury. He came through with no problems in winning the event in 2 minutes 15.86 seconds.
New Zealand veteran John Walker won the mile in 3:56.93.
