Share

Ultrasystems Inc. said it has been awarded two Defense Department contracts with a total value of $5.12 million, bringing to $18.12 million the value of defense contracts awarded to the Irvine company this month.

The company already has begun designing a command and control software system under the terms of one contract worth $3.52 million, said Phillip J. Stevens, Ultrasystems chairman and president. For the other agreement, worth $1.6 million, the company is developing a prototype of an advanced microwave frequency synthesizer.

Stevens said he could not provide further details of the 12-month contracts or even say which branches of the Defense Department are requesting the work because the information is classified.
