Joy in Cotswolds

Share

In reference to Jerry Hulse’s article on Cotswold Cottages in England, April 27: We had booked before the article appeared, but were pleased to read that our cottage, newly restored, was in the same hamlet, New Farringdon, as the garden cottage that Elizabeth Livingston had “special mentioned.”

To our joy, the cottage was equipped with all modern appliances, etc., and the decor and ambiance of the interior reflects the peace and charm of the English countryside. The lady of the manor has a special talent and flair for restoring and decorating, as well as caring for the comfort of her guests.

In the area are golf, fishing, boating, riding and a wildlife park as well as excellent pubs, restaurants, shops, etc. There is so much to see and do that two weeks was not long enough. We so miss the marvelous Cotswold lamb, the fresh, fresh eggs and the best scones, ever, baked daily at a very special bakery in the village of Lechlade a mile south of Little Farringdon.
