Forest Fires in Algeria

ALGIERS, Algeria — Several hundred acres of forests have been destroyed by fires in the Kabylia mountain area east of Algiers since Thursday, the official news agency APS reported Sunday.
People have been evacuated from several villages in the stricken areas, but no casualties have been reported and no homes damaged, the agency said.
