Cuba Threatens Games Boycott

STUTTGART, West Germany —
Cuba will boycott the 1988 summer Olympic Games in Seoul if North Korea is not allowed to stage the games jointly, former Cuban athlete Alberto Juantorena said today.
Juantorena, in Stuttgart as Cuban delegate to the International Amateur Athletic Federation congress, said: “If the discussions between South and North Korea about sharing the games do not succeed, we will definitely not be going.” The International Olympic Committee gave the Games to South Korea but discussed staging some events in North Korea.
