An alternate juror at the New York drug trial of former Yankee Joe Pepitone was excused after telling the judge that an unidentified man accosted her and said: “Don’t convict Joe Pepitone.”

Supreme Court Justice Alan Marrus said the woman juror told him that she was approached on a Brooklyn subway platform on her way home from the trial Wednesday evening. Marrus said he did not believe that anyone associated with the case was involved in the incident.

Pepitone, 45, and Robert Oates, 47, both of Brooklyn, and Thomas Carbone, 53, of Sound Beach on Long Island, were arrested last year on drug and weapons charges. Carbone was also indicted for heroin possession.
