Emotion and Inspiration Are Two Different Things
Let’s put an end to the multimillion dollar Dodger debacle! We can demand, through sharply curtailed patronage, that Tommy Lasorda resign and Al Campanis retire.
In my opinion, Lasorda is an emotional, but not an inspirational leader (there is a definite distinction). Campanis has become the world’s worst “horse-trader,” as witness the deals he has made recently involving (Sid) Bream, (Sid) Fernandez, (Candy) Maldonado and (R.J.) Reynolds.
I do not expect to see this appear in print because, as most everyone knows, Lasorda has you folks in the news media so beguiled that he has you where he wants you--in the palm of his hand.
